Celia Newman
Celia Newman affectionally known as "Boss Lady" started She Got Game League in January 2019. She had the vision to showcase and highlight women's talent in the city of Memphis and empower women to continue to chase their dreams! The league has become the hottest women's league in the Mid-South, with players ranging from WNBA, Division I and professional! Her goal is for her players to mentor and inspire young girls to never give up and be confident and achieve their goals! Her recent partnership with Junior Grizzlies will provide this platform for young girls.
Expansion
Now, heading into its 9th season in Memphis, She Got Game League has expanded to Nashville, Houston, Little Rock, Denver, and Dallas coming in 2024! SGG has also partnered with Junior Grizzlies to offer JR She Got Game League for young girls going into its 5th season June 2024. She has also started the She Got Game apparel line for fans and female hoopers to enjoy!
Her Passion
Since its beginning, She Got Game League has provided the platform and exposure for ladies to be able to continue their dream to play professionally. In the past 4 years, her league has provided that exposure and over 16 women have been sent overseas to play. She continues to give her passion for women empowerment each season and continues to give back in the community. Her goal is to one day have her own gym to provide a place for female basketball players to train, fellowship, mentor and inspire.
